About this event
ISACA Auckland’s SheLeadsTech lunchtime event for 1st Quarter of 2022 will be held on Wednesday, 16 March 2022 via a live webinar due to the current COVID situations. The link to the webinar will be shared with all registered attendees.
Presentation Topic: Cybersecurity Lessons from “Home Alone”
For those who don’t know the movie, HOME ALONE is the story of 8-year-old Kevin who was left home alone, defending the house against career criminals Harry and Marv.
Despite pre-dating the internet, several of the movie’s plot lines offer some important lessons about cybersecurity. Here, the talk shares lessons we can relate to cybersecurity and how we can protect ourselves from cybersecurity attacks.
For security professionals specifically, the security measures Kevin sets up for the burglars depicts well how the collaboration of blue and red team knowledge (called “Purple team”) can be used in the real life cyber security attack. Three main topics to be covered are:
- What measures Kevin put in place to set the burglars up? (What knowledge do we need to protect ourselves from cyber attacks?)
- How did he do it?
- Why is it so important to have purple team for the best practice in cyber security?
